Two people were killed Sunday night in a head-on crash in the Sun City Center area.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened on US 301 near Saffold Road just after 8 p.m. when two pick up trucks collided.
Troopers said a 41-year-old Parrish man was driving a Toyota Tundra southbound on US 301 while 54-year-old Jose Z. Zertuche of Wimauma was northbound in a Ddoge Ram 1500.
The Tundra went into the northbound lanes and the vehicles collided head on. Both drivers died at the scene, officials said. The name of the Toyota driver has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
