We're just a few days away from several local elections, including two seats in Madeira Beach.

The city has seen several highly-charged commission meetings over the last year.

There are four candidates who think they can change that.

Terry Lister is up for re-election, facing off against Deby Weinstein for the District 1 seat.

Nancy Hodges is also hoping to get re-elected for the seat in District 2. She is going head to head with Eric Breslin.

There could be another election right around the corner if some residents have their way.

Hundreds of signatures were collected for a petition asking to have the seats of two city commissioners, John Douthirt and Nancy Oakley, recalled.

Petitioners want the two to either resign or face a special election for reportedly making an improper hire.

The commissioners plan to go to the courts and get that tossed out altogether.

Meanwhile, in Indian Rocks Beach, Donald House Jr. and Joanee "Cookie" Kennedy are vying to be mayor-commissioner.

Jude Bond, Edward Hoofnagle and Nick Paloma are bidding for two city commissioner seats.

Mayor votes will also take place in Bellair, Pinellas Park and Treasure Island.
