Students at Merritt Island High School showed their support for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in a big way.

Wearing the Stoneman Douglas school colors maroon and gray on Feb. 22, the Merritt Island High student body showed solidarity with the Stoneman Douglas students.

Students at the Parkland high school endured a deadly mass shooting on Feb. 14. Seventeen people were killed.

Merritt Island High Student Daylyn Randolph said she organized the act of solidarity with the help of the school’s Art Club and Student Government President Wyatt Walker. She said she wanted to show support.

Following the deadly shooting, a group of students from the Parkland high school have since been vocal about advocating for gun control in Florida.
