Students at Stoneman Douglas High School got a surprise visit from Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat on Wednesday.

Many said this positive surprise was something the students really needed. Wade told the students that they were inspiring to him. He punctuated his remarks with "MSD Strong all the way" — which was met with a loud roar.
Wade has worn the name of shooting victim Joaquin Oliver on his game sneakers for the past several Heat contests. Oliver was buried in a Wade jersey, and Wade met privately with the boy's parents last weekend to thank them and ask how he can help going forward.
Meeting this man would have meant the world to Joaquin Oliver, one of our fallen 17. I gave Dwayne Wade a hug from Guac and told him how much he loved him! Thank you for being generous with your time today! A real bright spot for our kids! pic.twitter.com/BNwmfa751e
