Pasco County Schools is holding a public hearing on the final proposed rule is scheduled for April 10, 2018, at 5 p.m. in the School Board chambers, building #3, 7205 Land O’ Lakes Boulevard, Land O’ Lakes.

School district staff will be available to address the proposal and to respond to questions and/or comments regarding the rule being developed from attendees who arrive between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The public also may provide comments electronically.

The final rule boundary changes are scheduled to be adopted on May 1, 2018, at the regularly scheduled 6 p.m. board meeting in the School Board chambers, building #3, 7205 Land O’ Lakes Boulevard, Land O’ Lakes, with an effective date of July 1, 2018.

The affected schools include Anclote, Gulf, Mitchell, and River Ridge high schools; and Gulf, River Ridge, Seven Springs, and Paul R. Smith middle schools. 

The proposed new boundaries will be effective for the 2018-2019 school year, with a phase-in for addresses currently in the far west portion of the Mitchell High School boundary, between Seven Springs Boulevard and the Anclote River.  Students who live in that section of the boundary and currently are in 6th or 7th grade at Seven Springs Middle School will be able to complete their middle school education at Seven Springs. 

Students who live in that section of the boundary and currently are in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade at J.W. Mitchell High School will be able to complete their high school education at Mitchell.  Siblings of those students can apply for school choice and will be given priority to enroll in Seven Springs Middle School and Mitchell High School as outlined in our controlled open enrollment plan.
