HOLIDAY — An 11-year-old Pasco County boy missing since Wednesday afternoon has been found safe.

  • Boy had not been seen since leaving Villa Rosa Drive home Wed

Pasco County Sheriff's detectives said Janoy Romero was found safe Thursday morning at a friend's home. He hadn't been heard from since 4 p.m. Wednesday. 

Officials had brought in additional deputies in the search overnight.

Authorities said Romero was last seen just before 4 p.m. leaving his home on Villa Rosa Drive. The boy asked his mother for a dollar and said he was going to a neighborhood store. 

He left the home and had not been seen since.

Authorities have not released details about who the boy was with and why his family did not know.
