The State Attorney's Office said Wednesday there will be no charged against a Hillsborough County principal after a reported altercation with a student.

Michael Hoskinson, the principal of Coleman Middle School, had been accused by a 13-year-old student of grabbing him and throwing into a bush.

The allegation surfaced March 21. Hoskinson was re-assigned during the investigation.

Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said in late March that detectives interviewed the student who made the 911 call, along with 11 other students and four adults.

"We commend TPD for conducting a thorough and efficient investigation," the State's Attorney's Office said in a news release. "After carefully reviewing every allegation, fact, and detail of that investigation, we have determined that there is no legal basis to file charges against the principal."

A child abuse charge against Hoskinson was dropped back in January in a different case. In that instance, Hoskinson and his wife were accused of bruising the ribs of a child and sending a threatening text message.

Detectives later learned those allegations were false.
