Nevermind the franchise record for wins and points, the Tampa Bay Lightning are starting from scratch now.

It is time for the Stanley Cup finals.

  • Top seed secured, Lightning prepare for Stanley Cup run
  • Tampa Bay opens first round at playoffs vs. New Jersey Thursday at Amalie Arena
  • NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Tampa Bay earned not only the Atlantic Division championship but also the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Lightning open the Stanley Cup playoffs at home Thursday against the New Jersey Devils.

Amalie Arena also will be the site for Game 2 Saturday at 3 p.m. Games 3 and 4, April 16 and 18, will be played at New Jersey. The Lightning would host Games 5 and 7 if necessary.

The Lightning set a franchise record for wins, 54, and points, 113, this season but interestingly enough lost all three meetings with the Devils during the regular season.

Single-game Lightning tickets for home games during the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs are now on sale.
