POLK COUNTY, Fla. — An Auburndale man has been arrested and charged in Polk County for sexually battering a young girl under the age of 12, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Carlos Calderon, 41, who deputies say is a Mexican National, is accused of repeatedly sexually battering and molesting a young girl since she was 7 years old.  

Polk County detectives were made aware of Calderon after the victim told an adult about sexually explicit photographs of a child Calderon had on his phone. 

According to the report, Calderon had photos of child pornography involving the victim and while he was with the victim. 

Detectives said Calderon admitted to taking the photos of the child and sexually battering her.  According to the report, when asked how many times he committed the sexual battery, he responded "hell I don't know."

Calderon is being held in the Polk County jail on a $400,000 bond.  He is charged with a total of eight felonies related to the sexual abuse of a child. 

According to the report, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a warrant for 'Arrest of Alien' from the U.S. Department of Homeland Securty after Calderon's fingerprints were entered into the database.  The warrant states that Calderon either lacks immigration status or regardless of his status, he is removable from the United States under U.S. immigration law.  The sheriff's office said ICE is aware of the arrest of Calderon. 

Calderon has a criminal history, including arrests for driving with a non-valid license, probation violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
