VALRICO, Fla. — A 49-year-old Valrico man is facing charges related to a grow house containing more than $1 million in marijuana. 

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Victor Perez Madrigal is facing multiple charges after deputies responded to a home in the 1500 block of Kyle Court in Valrico. 

Deputies authorized a search warrant and detectives discovered two rooms which were converted for the sole purpose of cultivating marijuana.

Tampa Electric officials responded and located an illegal electric connection providing unmetered electricity to the house with a total theft of $7,713. 

Detectives recovered 41 mature marijuana plants which had a total weight of 522 pounds. The marijuana had a street value of $1,044,000.

Madrigal was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance, grand theft and maintaining a place for drug use.
