PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A St. Petersburg motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash.

According to Pinellas Park police, the crash happened on Park Boulevard near the intersection of 40th Street North at 10:30 p.m. 

Police said the driver of a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant traveling west on Park Blvd turned left into the path the motorcycle, which resulted in the motorcycle striking the rear bumper of the Galant. 

The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and the driver of the Mitsubishi drove off from the scene. 

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper witnessed the crash and immediately rendered aid to the downed biker while waiting for emergency first responders.

The driver of the Mitsubishi later returned to the scene and provided a full admission to the crash and fleeing the scene. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Jah-Vez Tierre Deon Hill-Holmes, was arrested on scene and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

The 31-year-old motorcyclist suffered severe lower body trauma resulting in the loss of both legs. 

Hill-Holmes is facing a list of charges, included leaving the scene of a crash, causing serious bodily injury, driving with a suspended license and felony violation of probation.
