NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — One person is recovering from minor injuries after an early-morning fire in New Port Richey. 

According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, the fire broke out at 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 3800 block of Ford Street. 

Fire officials said the single family home was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived. The heat and flames did spread to a neighboring residence before crews could gain control of the fire. 

One person suffered minor burns. 

Crews were able to extinguished the fire a short time after arrival. 

Damage was extensive and the fire is under investigation.
