NATIONAL — RXBAR is recalling a wide variety of its protein bars because they may contain peanuts not declared in the ingredients list.

The bars, which are heavily marketed as containing all natural ingredients, could trigger a life-threatening reaction in consumers who are allergic to peanuts.

RXBAR first identified peanuts in two varieties of their bars, Chocolate Sea Salt and Coconut Chocolate, in December and initiated a recall of those varieties.

The company decided to expand the recall after recently receiving reports of allergic reactions to additional varieties.

Affected bars do contain a warning on the wrapper, indicating they were manufactured in a facility that also processes peanuts.

The recalled products are safe to eat for people who are not allergic to peanuts.

Anyone who does have peanut allergies should discard the product and contact their local retailer or RXBAR at 1-312-624-8200 for replacement or a full refund.

Varieties being recalled are:

RXBAR: Apple Cinnamon, Blueberry, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Hazelnut, Chocolate Sea Salt, Coconut Chocolate, Coffee Chocolate, Mango Pineapple, Maple Sea Salt, Mint Chocolate, Mixed Berry, Pumpkin Spice

RXBAR Kids: Apple Cinnamon Raisin, Berry Blast, Chocolate Chip

No other RXBAR flavors or RXBAR products are affected by the recall.
