MIAMI, Fla. — Did you know you can tour the several historical homes built on stilts still standing on Biscayne Bay? Here’s what you need to know before you visit:
- Ocean Force Adventures offers small tours of the Port of Miami and Biscayne Bay.
- One very popular spot on the tour is Stiltsville. A series of homes built on stilts about 2 miles off the shore.
- Stiltsville originally consisted of 27 homes but now only has seven standing. The homes are abandoned and currently owned by the National Park Service.
- The homes were originally constructed during the early 1930s, and some were used as night clubs during the Prohibition era.
- Ocean Force Adventures does include Stiltsville on their two-hour daily tours, but you can also book a two-hour private tour to customize your visit to Stiltsville.
