PALM BEACH, Fla. — Nestled away in Palm Beach is famous Floridian Henry Flagler’s summer home-turned-museum that will transport you back to the early 1900s.

Here what you need to know before you visit the historic South Florida property:

  1. The Flagler Museum also known as “White Hall” was built for Henry Flagler in 1903.
  2. Henry Flagler is credited with helping create tourism in Florida after he founded the Florida East Coast Railway.
  3. Guests can walk through the mansion on guided or self-guided tours. The mansion is three-stories tall, and guests can explore 55 of the 75 rooms in the home.
  4. The Flagler Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
