Pasco Fire Rescue were called to the single-story home in the 12800 block of Ironwood Circle in the community of Beacon Woods around 2:35 p.m. Thursday.

It took crews about an hour and 10 minutes to get the flames under control. There were no injuries.

Neighbors told us the homeowner was already coping with personal loss before the fire destroyed his home.

"He lost his dog from cancer two weeks ago," said neighbor Diana Velko, "and then his wife and now the house. It was his parents' house to start with."

Investigators believe the cause of the fire was electrical in nature, due to a faulty irrigation pump.

Velko told us the neighborhood was ready to support the homeowner.

"All I could tell him is that we're here for him if he needs anything," she said. "I know the other neighbors were out telling him the same thing."

"You just got to be there for him," said resident Patti Thibado. "Like she said, its devastating — he's falling apart."
