ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Law enforcement officers are investigating three separate incidents in which pedestrians were hit by vehicles in Pinellas County since Saturday night.

The first happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Petersburg. Police there say a 74-year-old man attempting to cross at a crosswalk on 28th street near Central Avenue was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. 

The driver of the truck did not stop, but police were able to locate him after the crash. 

The pedestrian was taking to Bayfront Health for treatment.

Police say charges are pending.

A second crash happened in Seminole on Starkey Road near Park Boulevard around 1:23 a.m. Sunday.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old David Cunningham was crossing Starkey Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north.

Cunningham died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle wasn't hurt. 

Deputies say impairment and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, and the investigation continues.

Then at around 2:30 Sunday morning, a third pedestrian was hit in St. Petersburg, suffering life-threatening injuries.

Police say a 34-year-old man was crossing Fourth Street South near Third Avenue South when he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala.

The driver of the Impala stopped and is cooperating with the investigating.
