Deputies were called out to the home at 2840 60th Avenue North just before midnight to a report of a domestic battery.

Once deputies arrived, the victim told them that her boyfriend Joseph Robinson, 43, grabbed her by the hair, threw her on the bed, and struck her multiple times.

She also said he was still inside the home and armed with a gun.

Eight people inside the home were evacuated, along with several neighboring residents.

Deputies spent more than four hours trying to make contact with Robinson, who refused to come out.  During that time, deputies said they heard a single gunshot.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m., authorities said deputies made entry into the home where they found Robinson dead inside from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies learned that Robinson recently made homicidal and suicidal threats.
