TAMPA, Fla. — The largest annual fundraiser for Autism Speaks is being held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Saturday morning.

Nearly 7,000 people will be participating in the Autism Speaks Walk to raise money for resources for people living with autism. They hope to raise $352,000.

All of the money will go toward research, scholarships and grants, and tool kits for people living with Autism.  All of these resources help people of all ages.

As for the walk itself, it's about the community coming together, sharing stories and support.  It's that camaraderie that families depend on, and it's what keeps them participating year after year.

The Slagle family has been participating for 20 years, along with their daughter Stephanie who is 29-years-old and lives with Autism.  Stephanie will be singing the National Anthem ahead of the walk.

"I'm coming back not only to perform like I've always done, but I'm also there to inspire others on the spectrum that they can do amazing things," she said.

In the first 10 years of the organization doing this work, Autism Speaks has helped one million people.

People are still able to participate in the walk today.  Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Raymond James Stadium.  Shortly after 10 a.m., opening ceremonies are held and then the walk begins and the after party is an hour after that.
