HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — A man was found dead inside a burning home in Hernando County late Tuesday night, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue. 

Fire crews responded to a fully involved house fire at 6444 Barclay Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. after receiving calls from several people in the area. 

Witnesses reported seeing flames coming from the roof of the single-story home.  They also told fire crews that there could possibly be someone inside.  Fire rescue crews attempted to call for the person by knocking on the door but received no response, the report stated.

As crews worked to get the fire under control, officials said a portion of the roof collapsed.  After the fire was subsequently extinguished, crews were able to search the home and found a male victim inside. 

No other information has been released on the victim or the cause of the fire.
