PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A driver was killed after their car crashed into the water at the intersection of SR 54 and Gateway Blvd. in Wesley Chapel.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Thursday.
Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and firefighters attempted to rescue the the single occupant from inside the vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead on scene, officials said.
The intersection is currently closed due to the investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigating on the crash.
No other information has been released at this time.
