TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Police are investigating the discovery by two officers Wednesday evening of the body of a man who they believe died after he was struck by a train.

The officers were on routine patrol at 5:52 p.m. when they observed the body on the side of the railroad tracks near N. 50th Street and E. Broadway Avenue, according to the agency.

Officers said the man was "obviously deceased" and appeared to have been struck by a train.

Police investigators are working with CSX Police in investigating the case.

The man has not yet been identified.
