POLK COUNTY, Fla. — The Polk County Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water notice for its customers at the Eaglebrooke subdivision within the Southwest Regional Public Water System on Saturday.

  • Residents are asked to boil water for cooking or drinking
  • Reason for the notice is a loss of system pressure

"As a precaution, we advise that all water users drink bottled water and/or boil water to a rolling boil for at least one minute for cooking and drinking," stated the Polk County Commutations Supervisor Jeremy Maready in a news release.

The reason for the notice is that the subdivision saw a loss of system pressure, Maready stated, but did not state why there was a pressure loss.

The notice will remain in effect until an ongoing water test is completed, which may take 48 hours, and as a precaution, the water lines in the area have been flushed.

Anyone with questions can call either the company's customer service at 1-863-298- 4100 or Regional Water Plant Supervisor Ben Bushe at 1-863-247-7048.
