BRADENTON, Fla. — Kim George manages the Nourish Food Pantry at the Source Church in Bradenton.

Open on Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon, it is a daily job of collecting and stocking food on shelves which is given away to all who come.

There is never a charge.

"We have a lot of people that come, all different walks of life," George said. "And while we're there we just want to love on you and just say, ‘Hey it's OK and it's going to get better. Things can change."

George is also known as a "Prayer Warrior" ready to share prayers with any in need.

She has organized community food drives and set up living quarters for the homeless and domestic abuse victims.

George said it's humbling for her to be called a hero.

She said she simply loves people and loves to help them when she can.
