ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Skies will be mostly clear overnight into early Tuesday morning. The dry air is still dominating in our atmosphere, which is why we have not seen many storms the past few days.
Morning lows will again be in the low to mid 70s inland and upper 70s near the coast.

Have you noticed how hazy it’s been the past couple of days? That’s from Saharan dust.
It’s very common for it to come across the Atlantic from Africa with the trade winds. When it’s really thick and moves just far enough north, it can show up in our atmosphere.
That dust can also play a role in keeping our rain chance very low.

So we have a combination of factors keeping our rain chance low right now — dry air, the Saharan dust, and the high pressure near us.
Therefore, expect only a small chance of a storm again Tuesday, with hazy sunshine otherwise.
Highs will again be in the low to mid 90s, coolest at the beach.
Wednesday will be the slow transition day where we finally start to see a few more storms late that day going into the night. But the chance will still be limited at about 20 to 30 percent coverage.
After that, things will change and we will get back to a wetter pattern.
