CLEARWATER, Fla. — Spectrum Bay News 9 viewers are answering a call to action to help a Clearwater woman replace a window that was broken by a gator.

Mary Wischhusen has been living with plywood on her large front window ever since a gator broke through it in May. The gator also damaged kitchen drywall, two chairs and a refrigerator.

She said her insurance company denied her claim to replace the window because it doesn't cover animal damage.

Since Wednesday's story aired, viewers have been offering to help Mary.

One contractor even offered to replace the window for free.

We're putting her in touch with that contractor and will let you know what happens.
