ORLANDO, Fla. — Gerard Butler's new movie “Angel Has Fallen” is now in theaters everywhere. Here are five things we learned about the movie in our one-on-one with the movie star:

1. "HAS FALLEN" SERIES

Angel Has Fallen is the third installment in Butler's "Has Fallen" series.

2. SECRET SERVICE

Butler plays a secret service agent framed for the assassination attempt of the U.S. president.

3. CURRENT EVENTS

This sequel is steeped in today’s headlines.

“Yes, we cover everything, but I believe in a subtle way," Butler told Spectrum News’ Allison Walker Torres. "There's the election tampering, there's the Russian interference, there's fake news, political manipulation, (and) it deals with PTSD."

4. THE PRESIDENT

Movies depicting a president sometimes choose an actor resembling the sitting president (think Bill Pullman as Clinton-like in “Independence Day,” Dennis Quaid resembling George W. Bush in “American Dreamz,” and Jamie Foxx basically imitating Barack Obama in “White House Down.”)

In "Angel Has Fallen," Morgan Freeman is playing president.

"Yeah, well Alec Baldwin wasn't available," Butler laughed. "Let's go in a completely different direction. "

5. RELEASE

"Angel Has Fallen" in now in theaters nationwide.
