CLEARWATER, Fla. — Some of the fastest power boats in the country will face off this weekend during the "Race World Offshore Nationals" in Clearwater.

The three main races are held Sunday, and today, fans are invited to Coachman Park to meet the racing teams.

Race Director Rodrick Cox said some of the boats will well exceed speeds of 145 miles per hour.

This is the 11th year the racing event has been held in Clearwater.

"Clearwater fans here are fantastic. They love boat racing — this is the 11th year. You can see it by the 3000 boats that line up on the spectator fleet on the outside," Cox said.

The main race kicks off at noon on Sunday.
