ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Through the eyes of a kid the holidays can be the most magical time of the year.  And we often say, there's no place like home for the holidays.

However, not everyone gets that Christmas wish. Many sick kids and their families spend the holidays in the hospital.

And the staff at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is hoping to bring that holiday spirit right to the patient's room by singing Christmas carols.

"It is a special time of year with the celebration and all the things that go on around the holidays. And it's a hard time I think for the families and the kids to be away from their home. So we can kind of bring a little bit of that to them," Jim Lewis with All Children's Hospital said.

On Tuesday, the staff went around the hospital singing Christmas carols and spreading Christmas cheer to patients.

For one patient who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia just months after losing his father to stage four colon cancer, this kind gesture from the staff made a tough time of the year a little brighter.

"It kind of made my day because it got me smiling and everything. So I was kind of sad becasue I wasn't going home this morning. But once I heard that it kind of made my day by making me happy and listeniing to the people sing and be happy too," 17-year-old Michael McComb said.
