TAMPA, Fla. — Tina Fey has turned her hit movie “Mean Girls” into a musical and it’s on stage through this weekend at the Straz Center.

Here are five things to know about the show:

  1. It’s based off of Tina Fey’s 2004 box office hit of the same name, following Cady Heron as she moved from Africa to an Illinois high school and gets in with the so called “Plastics”.
  2. Many of your favorite lines from the movie are in the show such as “She doesn’t even go here!” and “That’s so fetch!”
  3. The show is updated to include themes relevant to teens today, like social media.
  4. The tour version is slightly different from the Broadway show, giving the actors the chance to really make the roles their own.
  5. The Broadway show was nominated for 12 Tony awards in 2018.
