ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A strong ridge of high pressure remains over Florida, keeping temperatures near record highs. The only cooling will be brought by the sea breeze in the afternoons.

This evening will be on the warm side with mostly clear skies. The sea breeze made decent progress through the coastal counties to do a little cooling. Overnight will be mostly clear with some fog or low clouds in the morning. Lows will be above normal in the upper 60s for Tampa to low 60s north, about the same as Saturday morning.

A cold front will approach FL/GA border. So our weather does not appear to change much for Sunday into Monday. After some morning low clouds, Sunday will be sunny and hot. The sea breeze will again cool the coast with an early afternoon start. Inland temperatures will be in the 90s.

Monday will have some morning low clouds, but skies will become sunny. The sea breeze might get a slower start, so Tampa may end up with high temperatures in the upper 80s. But it will still be warmer inland.

By Tuesday that front will be edging south, so southwest wind will increase a little. So there will be a few clouds. It will be more humid. Some rain may move in during the afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy. That southwest wind will cool the coast down early, and the sea breeze will move well inland. The rain chance will be very low.

On Wednesday, the cold front will likely move through! It will be a bit breezy. A few showers will be possible early, then skies will be mostly sunny. But the humidity will lower through the day.

Thursday will be very comfortable with low humidity and temperatures near normal.  So expect highs near 80.

The front may move back to the north by next weekend, so there may be some rain chances.
