“We’ve had really good turn out to families that are just going stir crazy at home,” said Karen Freiwald, owner of the Ruskin Family Drive-In. “They want to get out and do something.”

“We get to snuggle up in cars in blankets and all of that sort of stuff,” said Amanda Price, who was out at the drive-in with her family Thursday. “We get to still enjoy the movie theater popcorn and we get to do it all in the beautiful outdoors.”

Freiwald says the new attention has been good for business.

“It’s a safe, friendly environment that they can come to at any time,” Freiwald said. “You don’t need a pandemic to come to the drive-in.”

The Ruskin Family Drive-in shows two movies every night. It opens every evening around 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $6 for guests ages 9 and up, $1 for children ages 5 to 8, and children under 5 are free.
