TAMPA, Fla. — Four people were killed early Wednesday after a crash involving what police said was a stolen vehicle.

The crash happened on Cypress Street and east Reo Street just after 2:30 a.m. 

Police said officers attempted to stop a stolen Nissan Altima at Dale Mabry Hwy and Kennedy Boulevard. The driver sped off and was followed by officers. 

The pursuit lasted less than two minutes, police said. The vehicle crashed on Cypress St. just west of Reo St.  

Officers immediately pulled two occupants from the car and rendered aid, while additional officers attempted to extract the others still in the car. 

The four remaining occupants of the vehicle died at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation and no other information is available.
