TAMPA, Fla. -- Chef Fredrick Martinez at the Blind Tiger Cafe in Tampa is giving avocado toast a kick in the latest Chef's Kitchen segment. 

Ingredients:

  • Slice of 6-inch Cuban bread
  • Unsalted butter
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/3 tsp red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt & pepper

Directions:

  1. Slice Cuban bread in half, butter half the bread and place in toaster or panini press
  2. Cook egg sunny-side-up or to your preference
  3. Slice and peel avocados, season with salt and pepper to taste and mash into a spread
  4. When toast is ready, spread avocado evenly onto toast
  5. Place egg on top of toast and serve with lime wedge on the side
  6. Combine olive oil with red pepper flakes and drizzle on top
