STATEWIDE — After back-to-back days of less than 5,500 reported Coronavirus cases, the state announced more than 7,000 cases Thursday.

However, after two days of 200-plus reported deaths (245 Tuesday and 225 Wednesday), 120 deaths were announced Thursday. 

The state's Covid-19 overall positivity rate is at 13.21 percent.

Florida Department of Health reported 7,650 cases Thursday, bringing the state total to 510,389 cases.

The Florida Department of Health also reported 558 new hospitalizations, and 120 new deaths, bringing the total death toll in Florida to 7,747.

Among the new cases in Central Florida, Orange County led with 351 cases and 25 new deaths. That total was half of Central Florida's announced 50 deaths Thursday. Polk County saw 235 cases and 6 deaths.

In the Tampa area, Hillsborough County again had the most new cases, with 373, but only one new death. Pinellas County saw 163 new cases and two deaths. As a region, Tampa Bay had 1,090 new announced 1-day cases Tuesday and 16 deaths.

After seeing cases above 200 from July 27 to July 31, Pinellas County has not reported more than 177 cases each day in August.

  • Orange County: 351, 25 deaths
  • Marion County: 164, 7 deaths
  • Polk County: 235, 6 deaths
  • Osceola County: 130 cases, 2 deaths
  • Volusia County: 116 cases, 3 deaths
  • Semoinole County: 106 cases, 4 deaths
  • Lake County: 46 cases, 1 death
  • Brevard County: 82 cases, 2 deaths
  • Sumter County: 28 cases
  • Flagler County: 14 cases

Tampa Area New Cases and Deaths:

  • Hillsborough County: 373 cases, 1 death
  • Pinellas County: 163 cases, 2 deaths
  • Polk County: 235 cases, 6 deaths
  • Manatee County: 105 cases, 1 death
  • Pasco County: 92 cases
  • Citrus County: 56 cases, 2 deaths
  • Hernando County: 66 deaths, 4 deaths
