LUTZ, Fla. — A 23-year-old rapper has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

Billy Bennett Adams III, who performs under the stage name “Ace NH,” was taken into custody Saturday after two men were found shot to death Thursday in Lutz.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the two victims were working with him at a makeshift recording studio when it happened.

Detectives said Adams arrived at the studio in Lutz on Thursday evening, recorded his music and then proceeded to shoot both victims before leaving the scene at 15000 block of N 23rd Street.

Authorities have not released any details of the investigation or Adams’ arrest.

Authorities said the men knew each other and it is believed to be a gang related shooting.  Detectives say all three of them identified as members of the Crips gang on social media.

Adams was raised in Georgia but has performed in local venues in Tampa. His most recent album, released this year, is entitled “Life Goes On.”

Adams is facing two counts of premeditated first degree murder and one count of armed robbery. He is being held without bail.
