WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Legoland Florida has a brand new show that includes high-action stunts on the waters of Lake Eloise.

Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show debuts Friday and features more than 15 athletes performing various stunts, including wakeboarding, barefoot skiing and fly boarding.

What You Need To Know

  • Legoland has a new stunt show featuring wakeboarding, fly boarding and more

  • Brickbeard's Watersports Stunt Show features a pirate theme

  • Performances can be seen multiple times daily

  • Legoland Florida is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary

For the show, the creative team took the water ski show and wrapped it around the story of Captain Brickbeard, who along with new female pirate Calico Jade, has begun recruiting his new crew. To get them ready to take to the high seas, he begins training them. And what visitors get to see are a series of high-energy water stunts.

It’s a show unlike any Legoland has done before, with show director Phil Raybourn describing the stunts as epic.

“[The performers] are speeding up to 40 mph on the water, going 40 feet high with our new fly board,” he said. “We have wakeboard, jumps, sky skis, some beautiful ballets on the water as well.”

But the show doesn't just have stunts. There's also plenty of humor throughout it, with two pirates interacting with the audience and offering witty puns.

Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show takes place multiple times a day at Pirate’s Cove stadium. It’s just one of Legoland’s new pirate-themed offerings.

The brand-new Pirate Fest Weekends kicks off the same day as the stunt show and runs every weekend through the end of the month.

The event features pirate-themed activities such as a pirate training, live entertainment and specialty-food items.

The new show and event come as Legoland Florida celebrates its 10th anniversary. More events are scheduled for later this year to mark the occasion.
