The Citrus County Commission voted Tuesday to give Nature Coast EMS $522,000 to help them make payroll for their employees through October 1.

They will then bring EMS service under the county’s control at that time, most likely under the Fire Department.

Nature Coast EMS’ debt and lines of credit will not transfer over to Citrus County when the County takes control on October 1.

Everyone currently employed by Nature Coast EMS will be allowed to retain their employment with the county, but they will have to go through the hiring process.

The board voted 3-2 in favor of this plan.
