ORLANDO, Fla. — A local bowling and gaming attraction is turning 20 years old. To celebrate, Boardwalk Bowl is transforming into an indoor carnival.
Boardwalk Bowl on East Colonial in Orlando invites guests with retro signage. It's home to 80 bowling lanes, a large arcade, a full-service restaurant and a brand new billiards lounge.
Elijah Kostelnik, 22, is a shift manager who has worked at Boardwalk Bowl since getting his first job there at 16. “Bowling is something that kinda evolves with the times,” he said as he sanitized the bowling balls on lane 29.
Throughout August, the entertainment center is offering special rates and giveaways to celebrate its 20th birthday. But the highlight is this weekend during Party on the Boardwalk. For two days, the place is turning into an indoor carnival with bounce houses, carnival food, stilt walkers, ice cream, $2 bowling games and more. “We're going to be doing stuff that we don't normally do.”
A live mermaid meet-and-greet is at 1 p.m. both days during the carnival.
Party on the Boardwalk is Aug 27-28, 2022. It goes until midnight on Saturday and 10 p.m. on Sunday.
