PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — It was a deadly commute Friday morning across the Bay area.

Three pedestrians were killed in separate crashes early Friday.

In Pasco County, U.S. 19's southbound lanes were closed this morning at Mile Stretch Road near Holiday after a fatal crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 71-year-old man was killed while walking eastbound across the intersection when he was struck by a Ford F-150 truck.

Meanwhile, southbound Starkey Road at 78th Avenue North saw a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

Also, authorities said a teenager was struck and killed near a bus stop on Belleair Road near south Haven Drive in Clearwater. The victim was identified as Ethan Weiser, a student at Largo High School.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Largo High School student Ethan Weiser, in a tragic accident his morning," Pinellas County Schools said. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and school community. We have grief counselors at the school and will provide support as we all grieve this heartbreaking loss."

A fundraising page has been established for the family.

A witness who only identified herself as Mary M. said steps need to be taken to make the road less dangerous.

"I run down this road five or six days a week and something needs to be done," she said. "The county commissioners need to get together and put lights on this road. This is not going to be the first or the last time this happens."

All three of the crashes remain under investigation.
