PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Pasco County teachers and school employees have reached an agreement with the school district.

According to Bay News 9’s partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times, the district reached an agreement Wednesday night with employee representatives.

Teachers are set to receive an average raise of 5.4 percent, which would bring starting pay to just below $46,500.

Support employees like bus drivers and classroom assistants also will receive increases.

Employees who do not reach $15 per hour, which is required by the state beginning in October, would receive an additional bump to that level, according to the Times.

The increases are set to appear in employees’ Sept. 30 paychecks.
