TAMPA, Fla. — Legoland Florida's Shay Davis never had to figure out how to fabricate fake vines taking over a theater stage before.

But there’s a first time for everything — the “UnbeLEAFable Halloween Night,” show called for it.

“And it features a ton of our singers and dancers as well as our plant monster,” Davis said.

Their nod to the movie "Little Shop of Horrors" was a hit at their Brick-or-Treat preview night.

“I’ve seen the show probably hundreds of times now watching through the whole process,” Davis said. “So when we finally get an audience, I’m more watching their reactions.”

It’s one of several new offerings at Legoland Florida Resort’s Brick-or-Treat celebrations, including Lord Vampyre’s Monster Dance Party (Lord Business’s cousin no doubt).

“All the dances are so fun — it’s such a high energy show,” said Davis. Show business for Davis was originally going to be Broadway, but that was eight years ago.

“But after my first summer working at a theme park, I was like no — this is where I thrive,” she said. “I mean, you get to do double the amount of shows a day, triple the amount of people that you would see on the traditional stage because so many people are coming through.”

Performing led to choreographing shows, running them and now overseeing the entertainment for Brick-or-Treat.

“It’s the best part of the job honestly,” Davis said about watching the celebrations. “It’s all the hard work paying off when we finally see this come to life.”
