This is the 14th year Juliana Cannarozzo performs in "Christmas on Ice."

What You Need To Know

It’s Busch Gardens marquis event at their Christmas Town event.

But before she flies across the stage on two knives, she’s got a whole pre-show routine that starts in “The Cage.”

“The first thing I do is go into the costume,” she said, walking in the backstage "cage" that is not really a cage - more like a huge closet. “And I will come and grab my costumes for the day.”

Next, Cannarozzo spends about 30 minutes for hair and makeup in her cubby.

“I feel like it takes as long as I’m distracted. I like to talk so my best friend is on the other side of the wall here - but I try to stay focused.”

She then focuses on her fitness - tackling hips first.

“That’s a very easy area to injure if they are tight. So it’s good to keep them warm and as loose as possible," she said. It’s very important to warm up. I’ll say the older you get the more important it is as well.

“A lot of what we do out there involves flexibility so it’s best to just be ready to go to avoid any injury.”

Now Cannarozzo is ready to gear up, and lace up her skates, always with the time in mind.

She hits the ice for a final warmup.

“Before the Shows I like to come out here I may be a couple of minutes early just to get my feet wet as we call it,” said Cannarozzo.

She shows us a basic spin she learned at the age of five.

Now warmed up, Cannarozzo is ready to warm hearts.

“It’s so nice to see the expressions on people’s faces- - on the little kids faces - the kids are excited and happy,” said Cannarozzo. “You really go through a lot of emotions in the show, and it’s not just special for the audience, it’s special for us as well.”

Christmas Town continues at Busch Gardens through Jan. 9.
