WINTER PARK, Fla. — If you like to pay up front for unlimited sips and noshes, Cows 'n Cabs features nearly 30 restaurants and hundreds of wines, craft beers, and cocktails.

Here are five things you should know about the event:

1. New recipe

The event is now in its 8th annual year. Co-creator John Rivers (4 Rivers Smokehouse, Coop founder) is debuting new fried chicken batter that has a "little more country and more homestyle flavor to it."

In other words, he backed up on the rosemary and thyme and made it more "familiar."

2. Preparation

Preparing for a seemingly endless flow of ravenous festival goers requires much prep. That prep, says DoveCote's Chef Clay Miller, involves getting the meat to the right point.

"We're going to do pastrami and that thing takes two weeks to brine," Miller said.

3. Theme

The event is country western-themed. Jeans and cowboy hats. No black-tie "stuffy" stuff here. The park is a grassy surface, so you might thank yourself for wearing cowboy boots instead of stilettos.

4. When and where

Cows 'n Cabs is Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Winter Park’s West Meadow. The event benefits charities supporting children in need in Central Florida, including After-School All-Stars and Elevate Orlando.

5. Admission

Admission tickets start at $120. Oh, and a few of the guys from Sister Hazel are putting on a special performance.
