Ann Arbor, make room for George Campbell.

East Lake's 2015 athlete, ranked No. 3 overall by ESPN for his respective class, is headed to Michigan, joining his current teammate, 2014 offensive lineman Mason Cole. It was his second visit to campus since February.

"Everyone, not just the coaches but also the players, they all took me in as one," Campbell said on Monday. "Pretty much, it's like a big old family there. Not just that, but the academics. I plan on majoring in Sports Management, and they have a great program there. It's the best choice for me at the moment and for my future, too."

The five-star recruit visited Michigan this weekend with Cole, and tweeted a picture with Michigan coach Brady Hoke, solidifying his pledge to the Wolverines. He then made his announcement on twitter.

"I have officially decided to commit to THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN," Campbell tweeted.

His two-day trip with Cole was a memorable one. Him, Mason, quarterback commitment Wilton Speight and Michigan wide receivers coach Jeff Hecklinsky all went to dinner and chatted about football and school, among other things. The second night, dinner was a little more informal. He went to grab pizza with a number of commits, as well as a few Class of 2015 recruits.

He was sold.

"After that, I talked to Mason...and I said I felt like I was going to commit," Campbell said. "Saturday night was the night to commit."

Last season, Campbell caught 30 balls for 766 yards and five touchdowns. He spent the offseason recovering from surgery he had on his wrist. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound athlete picked Michigan over Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, and Georgia Tech, among others. Ultimately, the education at UM and the opportunity to pair with his best friend were something he couldn't pass on.

"We always said - me, him (Mason) and Tay [Scott] - we wanted to go to the same school," Campbell said. "With Tay going to Clemson, that was pretty hard but at the same time I had to do what's best for me. I felt like, with Mason there, it kind of gave me a nudge because I felt like okay, I won't be here by myself and I'll have one of my best friends here to play alongside."

Campbell's connection with Hoke made a difference, too. During his recruitment, Hoke and his staff held Campbell in high regard, telling him he was a "Michigan man", one who can lead on and off the field.

"It's a great relationship," he said. "He's a great coach and I've really gotten close to him. I feel like I can talk to him about anything, no matter what it is. He'll always be there for me...Coach Hoke and coach Heck said it themselves, the reason why they're recruiting me is because I'm a 'Michigan man', and that's what they look for in a player."

Campbell joked about the cold weather, saying "you get used to it after a while". His recruitment for the 2015 class began just days after his pledge, tweeting at a number of players telling them to join him in Ann Arbor.

"I knew that if I committed here (to Michigan)," Campbell said, "I had to be dedicated to this commitment."
