Berkeley Prep Junior Max Mortonson is the definition of a scholar athlete.  Although Mortonson is a quiet guy off the field, he’s always in attack mode on the field.

The Berkeley Prep junior has lit up the lacrosse field this season, scoring 10 points in a 17-7 win over Tampa Catholic and leading the team to an 18-2 blowout over Jefferson.  Mortonson says his success is about improving his game and playing with teammates he's known since moving from Oregon to Tampa.  And, Mortonson has been able to excell in lacrosse while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Berkeley Prep Head Lacrosse Coach Brian Watson says that Mortonson has really come into his own, as a versatile, dynamic player who can dodge, shoot, and play the whole field.
