Hurricane Irma forced some schedule rearranging in the American Athletic Confernce.

USF's football game against UConn, originally scheduled for Sept. 9, has been rescheduled for Nov. 4. The Bulls' game against Houston, originally scheduled for Nov. 4, has been moved up to Oct. 28.

That moves the Cincinnati game to Oct. 14, which will serve as the Bulls' homecoming game.

The schedules of three other AAC teams also had to be adjusted to allow for the UConn game to be rescheduled.

"This was not an easy process, but we feel that this revised schedule is a significant step toward giving us the best opportunity to decide our champion on the field," said Mike Aresco, the conference's commissioner.

UConn Athletic Director David Benedict said he is grateful to the conference and the other schools for being so flexible.  He said not playing USF would have meant a loss of about $650,000 in gross revenue to UConn.

Moving the Cincinnati contest eliminates the UMass game, originally scheduled for Oct. 14. Tickets purchased for the UMass game will be refunded or may be exchanged for tickets to any USF conference home game.

All other ticket changes will not be reissued. Tickets for new dates will be honored based on the opponent printed on the ticket on the new date for the game. If the ticket holder is unable to attend the game on the new date they will be refunded the ticket price.

USF hosts Illinois Friday night at Raymond James Stadium.
