Last season, the Buccaneers pass rush was non-existent, so the team made it a point of emphasis this offseason to rebuild the defensive line.

Three of the team’s newest linemen are trying to bring a Super Bowl-winning mentality to the Bucs: Jason Pierre-Paul, Beau Allen and Vinny Curry.

All three are expected to be key contributors in the trenches, and all three have won a Super Bowl.  Now the trio is looking to help lead the Bucs into the postseason and beyond.

Allen said, “Hoping to bring a lot of the same things we did last year, a lot of the mentality we had, me and Vinny in Philly, and bring that here to Tampa.”

Allen and Curry won it all in 2017 with the Eagles, but they’ll be the first to remind folks that Philly was just 7-9 the year before.

“We obviously had a lot of success in Philadelphia last year and won the Super Bowl.  People forget the year before we weren’t as good of a football team and that’s how it goes.  You got to build, got to get better every year and that’s what we did in Philadelphia and that’s what we’re hoping to do this year,” Allen said.

Pierre-Paul knows a thing or two about good defensive play.  He was a member of the Giants’ 2011 Super Bowl-winning team that racked up 48 sacks.

It’s only three days into training camp, but he says he likes what he’s seen so far from his teammates.

“So far it’s been great man.  We’re just creating chemistry out there.  Everybody pass rushes different, everybody plays the run different.  We’re having great chemistry, so that’s a great start for us,” the former USF Bull said.

Maybe this newly-found chemistry on the D-Line can lead to a winning formula for the Bucs.
