As far as animal sports prognosticators go, Nick the dolphin is fairly accurate — but that's not news that Philadelphia Eagles fans want to hear.

  • Nick the dolphin picks Patriots to win Super Bowl
  • Nick lives at Clearwater Marine Aquarium
  • Nick is 6 for 7 on sports predictions in past year

The rescued dolphin and resident at Clearwater Marine Aquarium made his latest prediction Monday live on Facebook, picking the Patriots to win Super Bowl LII on Sunday.

Aquarium workers placed an Eagles-branded football and a Patriots-branded football in Nick's pool at an equal distance. He then swam to the balls and chose one.

This will be Nick's eighth sports prediction. Of the seven he made in the past year, he was right on six of them. (He chose the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the NBA Finals, but the Golden State Warriors won.)

You can see all of Nick's predictions on the Clearwater Marine Aquarium website.

Nicholas was rescued as a calf in 2002 when he and a female dolphin were found stranded near Gibsonton. He had second- and third-degree sunburns across his body. Since he was so young when he was rescued, he didn't have the survival skills necessary to be released back into the wild.
