TAMPA, Fla. - Try moving Will Putnam on a football field. You might find out - it’s nearly impossible. But earlier in Will’s life - he moved around a lot. As the son of a career military man - Will’s scenery kept changing. In 2017 his family moved from Illinois to Tampa.

"I think coming here to Plant has been great for me," said Putnam. "I'd be lying if I said moving around a lot was smooth sailing, but it has been good for me. And Plant has great football, great practices, the atmosphere at Dad's stadium is awesome."

Throughout all the moves...Will learned one an important trait - Sacrifice. It’s that way of thinking that has helped Will become one of the top offensive linemen in the country.

“I have never seen so much dedication to technique and a craft as much as I have with Will. I have subtitled his highlight reel as the “Path to Destruction” because there are more guys on the ground in this video probably more than in any other films in our 14 years combined. I think he is the best offensive lineman I have ever seen in high school.”

Will has narrowed down his college choices to a Top 3: Clemson, Auburn, and FSU.

"All these schools are in the south and I love to stay close to family, said Putnam."I have been a lot of places, met a lot of people, but your family stays the same.”

He could make his decision before the end of the season and might enroll in college this January, Which would mean making another sacrifice.

Will has been wrestling most of his life. And is the defending CLASS 3A state champion in the 285 lbs class. But choosing college football will most likely mean no wrestling this winter.

“I think went out the way I wanted to and in the fashion I did it I am pretty satisfied and ready to move on to college football.”

The college decision is rapidly approaching. And Will Putnam is ready. Because after all the sacrifices this is his call. This is Will's move.
